Dubai Run Dates and Timings

The run is held on Sunday 22 November 2026, the penultimate weekend of Dubai Fitness Challenge. Runners set off from 6:30am in the start slot chosen during registration; the start line closes at 8:00am and the event wraps up by 9:00am, before Sheikh Zayed Road reopens. Arrive well before your slot — road closures and crowds around the start area build up from around 5:30am.

The Two Routes: 5km vs 10km

5km route (family & beginners)

Starts on Sheikh Zayed Road by Museum of the Future and finishes on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard near Dubai Mall. Flat, relaxed and the most popular choice for families, first-timers and walkers — this is the “fun run” route most people mean when they talk about Dubai Run.

10km route

Also starts by Museum of the Future, continues along Sheikh Zayed Road and finishes at the DIFC Gate Building near Emirates Towers. Best if you want a proper training run on a completely closed Sheikh Zayed Road.

Both routes are untimed: there is no official race clock, no winner and no pressure. Run, jog or walk the whole way — plenty of participants walk the 5km in run T-shirts taking photos of the skyline.

How to Register for Dubai Run 2026

Registration is free, online only, and compulsory — there is no on-the-day registration and you cannot take part without a bib. As of mid-October 2026, Dubai Run booking had not opened yet (the separate general Dubai Fitness Challenge sign-up is open, and Dubai Ride booking opened first). When Run booking opens on the official Dubai Run page / your DFC account, the steps are:

  1. Log in to your Dubai Fitness Challenge account at dubaifitnesschallenge.com.
  2. Open the Dubai Run event booking and choose your route: 5km or 10km.
  3. Pick your start-time slot and register every participant individually — each runner needs their own registration.
  4. Select whether you want the official T-shirt (you can only collect a T-shirt if you selected one during registration).
  5. Save your confirmation and QR code — you will need it for bib collection.

Changed your mind about the route? A route change means cancelling your registration and re-registering, so choose carefully. Popular early start slots for the 10km typically fill first.

Bib Collection: Zabeel Park, 2–21 November

There is no race-day bib collection. Collect your bib (and T-shirt, if selected) from the Dubai Municipality 30×30 Fitness Village at Zabeel Park between 2 and 21 November 2026. Bring your registration QR code. If you cannot go yourself, someone else can collect for you using your QR code — handy if you registered the whole family. Parents and guardians can register up to three children under “My family” in their DFC account.

Who Can Take Part? Children, Beginners & Walkers

  • Children of all ages can take part; a parent or legal guardian registers them and accepts the waiver.
  • Under-18s must be accompanied by an adult on the route.
  • Walking is completely fine — Dubai Run is a community fitness event, not a competitive race.
  • Pets are not allowed on the route.

Getting There: Metro Stations & the AED 15 Nol Tip

Driving to the start is a bad idea — Sheikh Zayed Road and surrounding streets are closed. The official guidance is to take the Metro:

  • 5km route: World Trade Centre station
  • 10km route: Emirates Towers station
  • Keep at least AED 15 balance on your nol card or app so you are not stuck topping up in the morning rush.

Dubai Run: A Short History

Dubai Run has grown into the largest free community run on the planet. The 2025 edition, held on 23 November 2025 as part of Dubai Fitness Challenge, drew 307,000 participants onto Sheikh Zayed Road (Dubai Media Office figures) — a sea of runners between the skyscrapers that has become one of Dubai’s defining images. People searching for older editions (“Dubai Run 2022”, “Dubai Run 2024”) usually want the same thing you do: this year’s registration and route details, which are kept updated above.
