Dubai Ride 2026: Sheikh Zayed Road Cycling — Date, 12km & 4km Routes, Registration

Dubai Ride 2026 takes place on Sunday 1 November 2026 from 6:00am — and it is the event that opens Dubai Fitness Challenge 2026. Registration is free — and unlike Dubai Run, Dubai Ride booking is already open.

The Two Dubai Ride Routes

12km Sheikh Zayed Road route

The headline route: a closed Sheikh Zayed Road past Museum of the Future, the Dubai Water Canal, Burj Khalifa and Dubai Opera. It is the only day of the year you can cycle this stretch with zero traffic. The pace is social rather than competitive — expect families, cycling clubs and first-timers riding side by side.

4km Downtown Dubai family route

A shorter, flat loop around Downtown Dubai designed for younger riders and anyone who prefers a gentle morning spin over the full highway route. Same sunrise atmosphere, none of the distance.

How to Register for Dubai Ride 2026

Booking is free and open now, and it is separate from the general Dubai Fitness Challenge sign-up (registering for the 30×30 challenge alone does not book your Ride place):

  1. Create or log in to your account at dubaifitnesschallenge.com.
  2. Open the Dubai Ride event booking.
  3. Choose your route — 12km Sheikh Zayed Road or 4km Downtown family route.
  4. Complete a booking for every rider and keep your confirmation details for event morning.

Popular slots for the 12km route go quickly once the event is promoted, so book early rather than waiting for the challenge to start on 31 October.

What to Know Before Event Morning

  • Arrive early: with a 6:00am start and road closures around Sheikh Zayed Road and Downtown, plan to be near your start area well before dawn.
  • Use the Metro where possible: driving and parking near the route is heavily restricted on event morning.
  • Follow the official event rules shown during booking — bike and helmet requirements, minimum rider guidance and start-area instructions are confirmed in your booking flow and event pack.
  • It is not a race: Dubai Ride is an untimed community ride; there are no official timings or rankings.

Dubai Ride vs Dubai Run: Which Should You Book?

Both flagship events take over Sheikh Zayed Road during the challenge. Dubai Ride (1 Nov) comes first, is cycling-only and booking is open now. Dubai Run (22 Nov) is the giant on-foot event — 5km or 10km, run or walk — whose booking opens separately. Plenty of people do both; our Dubai Run 2026 guide tracks its registration status. People searching “Dubai Ride 2023” are usually looking for exactly this: the current edition’s date, routes and booking, all kept updated on this page.
