Best Food Trucks & Winter Food Markets in Dubai (Beach Canteen, MOTB, Ripe Market)

Ripe Market Dubai is the city’s best-loved winter weekend market: a farmers’ market, food-truck festival and family day out at Dubai Police Academy Park in Umm Suqeim, open Saturdays and Sundays, 9am to 9pm, from October to May. It anchors Dubai’s outdoor food season, alongside etisalat Beach Canteen, a free beachfront food festival at Sunset Beach from 10 to 27 December 2026, and e& MOTB (Market Outside The Box), the Dubai Shopping Festival’s open-air market at Dubai Design District, expected back from 8 to 24 January 2027. Entry to Ripe Market is AED 5 per person; the other two are free.

What Is The Ripe Market Dubai?

The Ripe Market Dubai is a community-driven outdoor market founded in 2011 to give local farmers, artisans and homegrown brands a place to sell directly to the public. The 2026-27 season marks its 15th anniversary, and it has grown into one of Dubai’s most reliable weekend fixtures — part farmers’ market, part street-food festival, part family day out.

Unlike the malls, the market is built around small businesses. Each weekend, more than 100 independent vendors set up stalls selling organic fruit and vegetables, fashion, jewellery, homeware, art, beauty products and handmade gifts. Food vendors rotate through the season, so a visit in November never looks exactly like a visit in March. Live music, magic shows, free yoga and Pilates sessions, sports activities and Dubai Police community activations give the whole thing a festival feel — and families regularly turn it into an all-day picnic on the grass.

Where Is The Ripe Market Dubai?

The flagship market is held at Academy Park, inside the Dubai Police Academy grounds on Umm Suqeim Road (Al Sufouh 1), Umm Suqeim — a few minutes’ drive from Mall of the Emirates, Al Barsha and Jumeirah.

  1. By car: Drive to Umm Suqeim Road and follow signs for Dubai Police Academy / Academy Park. There is a large free car park on site, but it fills up fast at peak times — aim to arrive before 11am or after 5pm.
  2. By taxi or Careem: Set your drop-off to “Ripe Market Academy Park” or “Dubai Police Academy Park, Umm Suqeim”. It is a short ride from Mall of the Emirates, Al Barsha, Umm Suqeim and Jumeirah neighbourhoods.
  3. Pair it with nearby sights: Mall of the Emirates, Madinat Jumeirah and Kite Beach are all a 10–15 minute drive away.

Dubai Ripe Market: 2026-27 Season Dates, Timings & Entry Fee

The Ripe Market Dubai reopened for the season on Saturday, 10 October 2026 and runs every Saturday and Sunday until 2 May 2027. Both days run from 9am to 9pm this season — Sunday’s hours have been extended, so evening visitors get the same 12-hour window as Saturday’s.

Entry costs AED 5 per person, collected at the park gate. Children under 12 and seniors over 60 enter free, and the market itself is free to browse once you are inside. Most visitors spend between 2 and 3 hours at the market, though families with kids often stay much longer — there is enough to fill a full day if you let it.

What to Eat at Ripe Market Dubai: Food Stalls & Food Trucks

Come hungry. Food runs all day rather than clustering around lunch: breakfast plates and speciality coffee in the morning, street food through the afternoon, and desserts all day long. Expect organic produce from UAE farms, artisanal breads, small-batch jams, smoothie bowls, gourmet burgers and Middle Eastern snacks.

Vendors rotate through the season, so walk the full food row once before you buy anything — regulars all learn this the hard way. Several food trucks trade at the market too, making it a natural first stop on any food truck tour of Dubai.

What to Buy at the Market

Shopping is the other half of the Ripe Market experience, and it leans local. The organic section is the heart of it — long-standing vendors like Hasabi Organic Farm from Al Ain sell freshly harvested UAE-grown vegetables every weekend. Beyond produce, stalls cover:

  • Fashion and jewellery from independent UAE designers
  • Homeware, art, candles and handmade décor
  • Natural skincare, soaps and eco-friendly products
  • A plant souk with indoor plants, herbs and succulents
  • Unique gifts and souvenirs you won’t find in the malls

It is one of the best places in Dubai to pick up authentic, locally made souvenirs while directly supporting small businesses.

Ripe Market Dubai for Kids & Families

The market is built for families. Kids get a petting zoo, pony rides, a carousel, a mini train, inflatable play areas, craft workshops and slime-making sessions. Dubai Police run a community programme through the season with performances by the marching band, K9 unit demonstrations, supercar displays and appearances by mascots Officer Amna and Captain Mansour — free to watch and a hit with children.

Adults are not forgotten: free yoga, Pilates, sound healing and mindfulness sessions run on selected weekends, alongside community sports including padel, tennis, football, horse riding and gymnastics. The Ripe Market Community Run series also takes place here, with race days on 4 Oct and 13 Dec 2026, then 10 Jan, 14 Feb, 14 Mar and 2 May 2027, over 2.5km, 5km, 10km and 15km distances.

The Dubai Police Academy Connection

What makes this market different from every other Dubai pop-up is its home: Academy Park sits inside the grounds of the Dubai Police Academy itself. That partnership is why the entry is a nominal AED 5, why parking is ample, and why you will see police supercars parked next to the smoothie stands.

Beach Canteen: Dubai’s Beachfront Food Festival

Stalls lit up at a Dubai night market after dark

e& Beach Canteen is Dubai’s much-loved beachfront food festival, and it is having its biggest season yet. The spring 2026 edition (planned for Nessnass Beach in March) was postponed — and now the festival returns as etisalat Beach Canteen, part of the Dubai Shopping Festival for the very first time.

The new dates are 10 to 27 December 2026, and the official Visit Dubai events calendar lists the venue as Sunset Beach, Jumeirah with free entry. Expect a curated mix of restaurant pop-ups, live entertainment, interactive workshops and signature food experiences — all with your feet in the sand.

Past editions featured crowd favourites like Pastasole (NYC-style pasta), Local Foundry (sourdough pizzas), The Knot Churros and Brooki desserts, alongside burgers, bubble tea, beach fitness classes and kids’ zones. Entry has always been free — you simply pay per stall — and the 2026 line-up is expected via @beachcanteenofficial on Instagram closer to December.

MOTB — Market Outside The Box

The 13th edition ran from 1 to 11 January 2026 at Dubai Design District (d3) Waterfront with more than 95 retail and F&B brands, free entry and free parking. The next edition is expected from 8 to 24 January 2027, per the DSF 2026-27 programme (dates still to be confirmed by the organisers).

MOTB blends shopping, street food, live music and immersive futuristic installations, with a heavy focus on homegrown talent — past food names include The Yard, Slice 45, TRD Tacos and Bond Matcha, alongside local fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands. If you only pick one January outing, MOTB is the strongest all-rounder of the season. See the full Dubai Shopping Festival 2026-27 programme for how it fits the 45-day festival.

Food Truck Parks Worth the Drive

Dubai’s permanent food-truck scene lives at its dedicated truck parks. The big name is Last Exit, with four themed locations: DXB Bound and AUH Bound on Sheikh Zayed Road (the DXB Bound park opens daily from 6am to 3am), Al Qudra on the D63, and Al Khawaneej on the D89. Expect gourmet burgers, tacos, karak, desserts and coffee, plus prayer rooms, kids’ play areas and plenty of parking.

Seasonal pop-ups like Truckers DXB appear at venues such as Emirates Golf Club, Burj Park and Marasi during the cooler months, and the Palm Jumeirah Boardwalk lines up food trucks along its 11km crescent with free parking.
