Centrepoint is where every Red Line journey begins — the northern terminus in Al Rashidiya, home to the network’s biggest park-and-ride lot and the trains’ main depot. If you drive in from Sharjah, Mirdif or the northern suburbs, this is almost certainly where your metro journey starts.
This guide covers the park-and-ride, bus connections, the station’s layout, timings, fares — and the coming Blue Line, which will make Centrepoint an interchange in 2029.

Park & Ride: How It Works
Centrepoint’s multi-storey car park is the largest metro park-and-ride in northern Dubai:
- Capacity: 2,700 vehicles, with dedicated bridges to the station (~3-minute walk)
- Cost: free for metro riders — tap your Nol card when you ride
- Access: directional ramps from Emirates Road and Al Khawaneej Road feed the car park’s entry/exit points
- Ground floor: designated for public buses feeding the station
Who it’s for: drivers from Sharjah, Mirdif, Al Warqa, Muhaisnah and International City — park here and ride the Red Line straight to the airport (2 stops), Deira, Downtown or the Marina. It beats Sheikh Zayed Road traffic and Downtown parking fees every time.
Bus Connections
One of the widest bus selections on the network, including intercity routes:
| Routes | Serve |
|---|---|
| F3, F5, F6, F10, F60, F61 | Mirdif West, Mizhar 1, Al Rashidiya, Dubai Safari Park, Mirdiff 1, Al Warqa |

| DXB1-1 to DXB1-4 (Ajman) | Al Musalla, Ajman ↔ Rashidiya |
Platforms & Directions
As a terminus, it’s simple: all trains depart southbound toward Expo 2020 / Life Pharmacy. The three-track layout lets trains be held and turned around efficiently — just board any train showing your destination branch (“Expo 2020” or “Life Pharmacy” — they split at Jabal Ali).
Timings: First & Last Trains

Fares & Nol Card
The station is in Zone 5. Silver Nol fares: AED 3 (1 zone), AED 5 (2 zones), AED 7.50 (3+ zones). The airport is 2 stops away (Zone 5 → AED 3); Downtown crosses into Zone 6 (AED 5); the Marina crosses 3+ zones (AED 7.50). (Check balance · recharge · monthly passes.)
The Blue Line Is Coming (2029)
Centrepoint is slated to become an interchange when the Dubai Metro Blue Line opens (target 2029). The Blue Line’s Centrepoint branch will run toward Academic City via City Centre Mirdif, giving northern-suburb commuters a second line. Expect construction activity around the station in the coming years — the station code BR10 is already reserved for it.
Practical Tips
- Sharjah commuters: the 113 bus + metro combo, or drive to the park-and-ride — both beat the morning E311 crawl.
- Car park fills up: on weekday mornings the 2,700 spaces fill early — arrive before 7:30 AM for a guaranteed spot.
- Depot next door: the Rashidiya depot (64-train capacity) and the Rail Operations Control Centre sit beside the station — that’s why the first trains of the day start here on time.
- Airport in 2 stops: Terminal 3 is the 2nd stop south — the fastest airport access of any park-and-ride.

Station History
Centrepoint opened on 9 September 2009 as Rashidiya — the Red Line’s northern terminus from day one. In August 2021 it was renamed Centrepoint under a naming-rights deal with the Landmark Group’s Centrepoint retail brand. Beside it sits the Rashidiya depot (64-train capacity) and the Rail Operations Control Centre — the nerve centre of the whole network. In 2029 it’s slated to become an interchange with the new Blue Line.
A Perfect Park-and-Ride Day
Morning: drive to the 2,700-space park-and-ride (arrive before 7:30 AM on weekdays), tap your Nol card and ride south. Option A — malls: Dubai Mall (30–35 min) for the day. Option B — heritage: Union → Green Line to the Gold Souq (20–25 min). Evening: ride back, collect your car and drive home against the traffic. Why it works: you skip Sheikh Zayed Road’s worst congestion and Downtown parking fees entirely.
