Studying in Dubai? You can ride the metro, tram and buses for half price — and since the Student Nol Package upgrade, your card can also unlock global student discounts in 130+ countries. RTA now offers two products: the standard Student Nol card (AED 70) and the Nol ISIC card (AED 95). Here is how they differ, who qualifies, and exactly how to apply.
Student Nol Card vs Nol ISIC: Which One?
| Standard Student Nol card | Nol ISIC card | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | AED 70 (AED 50 fee + AED 20 credit) | AED 95 (includes ISIC membership fee) |
| Dubai transport discount | 50% off fares | 50% off fares (same) |
| Global student benefits | No | Yes — ISIC discounts in 130+ countries |
| Retail discounts | Standard | Up to 70% at ISIC partners worldwide |
| Best for | Daily commuting in Dubai only | Students who travel or shop internationally |
The key point: the extra AED 25 for ISIC buys the international student membership — it does not increase the Dubai transport discount. Both cards give the same 50% concession.
What Does the 50% Discount Cover?
- Dubai Metro — fares drop to AED 1.50 / 2.50 / 3.75 by zone
- Dubai Tram, RTA buses and marine transport (water bus, abra, ferry)
Exclusions: intercity and seasonal bus services are not covered. Keep your card topped up: check your balance here.
