DMCC Metro Station Dubai: JLT & Marina Guide (2026)

DMCC is the metro station for Jumeirah Lake Towers — and one of only two stations where you can transfer to the Dubai Tram. Sitting between JLT’s tower clusters and Dubai Marina, it’s the gateway to the Marina, JBR and Palm Jumeirah for anyone arriving by metro.

This guide covers the tram transfer, JLT exits, nearby attractions, bus connections, timings and fares.

Practical Tips

  • Old name: the station was Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) until the DMCC naming-rights deal — older guides and drivers may still say “JLT station”.
  • JLT navigation: clusters run A–Z; ask for the cluster letter, not just “JLT” — the community is huge.
  • DMCC vs Sobha Realty: both connect to the tram; DMCC serves JLT’s southern end, Sobha Realty the Marina-facing end. Pick the closer one to your destination.
  • April 2024 floods: the station closed briefly during the record floods and reopened in May 2024 — check RTA alerts during extreme weather.

Station History

The station opened on 15 October 2010 as Jumeirah Lakes Towers — one of the “second wave” Red Line stations that opened after the initial launch. It was later renamed DMCC for the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre free zone. On 16 April 2024 it closed temporarily during the record rainfall that flooded parts of the network, reopening in May 2024. Today it’s the defining station of the JLT–Marina corridor, with the tram interchange making it one of the best-connected spots in “New Dubai”.

A Perfect Half-Day From DMCC

Morning: coffee around Cluster D lake in JLT — the lakeside promenade is at its best before noon. Midday: tram to Dubai Marina Mall for lunch and a Marina Walk stroll. Afternoon: tram to Palm Jumeirah station → monorail to Atlantis for the Aquaventure area or the Lost Chambers. Evening: back to JLT for dinner — the clusters have some of the city’s best mid-range restaurants. The tram makes all of this one-tap easy.

Good to Know: Riding From This Station

  • Tap in and out — every journey needs both taps, or you’ll be charged the maximum fare.
  • No eating or drinking on trains and in stations — this rule is strictly enforced.
  • Let passengers alight first before boarding; stand clear of the doors.
  • Women & children cabin: the pink-marked cabin is reserved — men entering can be fined AED 100.
  • Gold Class: the premium cabin (roughly double the fare) is at the front in the direction of travel.
  • Luggage: one large suitcase + one small bag per passenger; use the lifts.
  • Friday nights run late (until 1:00 AM); Sunday mornings start late (8:00 AM).

Where to Stay & Eat Nearby

JLT’s clusters are packed with mid-range restaurants — the lakeside promenade is one of the best-value dining strips in “New Dubai”. Hotels cluster in JLT and across the road in the Marina (a tram ride away), from serviced apartments to five-star towers. For a quick bite, the station’s own retail kiosks and the nearby cluster food courts do the job.
