One important note first: prayer times change every single day — they are set by the sun’s position, not by a fixed clock. Any website showing you “today’s” times as permanent text is misleading you. Below you will find a live widget for exact daily times, plus the typical ranges so you always know what to expect.
Today’s Prayer Times in Abu Dhabi (Example)
To give you a feel for the current season, here are the prayer times for Friday, October 9, 2026 — shown as an example only. Times shift by a minute or two each day, so always check the live widget above or your mosque for the exact time.

How Prayer Times Are Calculated in the UAE
Prayer times are not guessed — they are astronomical calculations based on Abu Dhabi’s exact position (24.45° N, 54.38° E, timezone UTC+4, no daylight saving).
The official timetable for the UAE is published by AWQAF — the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat. Mosques across Abu Dhabi follow this official calendar, and the adhan you hear is based on it.
The UAE uses what is commonly called the “Dubai method”: Fajr and Isha are both set at a sun angle of 18.2° below the horizon, with +3 minute precautionary offsets applied to sunrise, Dhuhr, Asr, and Maghrib. For comparison, other standard methods differ slightly:
- Muslim World League (MWL): Fajr at 18°, Isha at 17° — the closest widely used setting to the UAE method
- Umm al-Qura (Makkah): Fajr at 18.5°, Isha 90 minutes after Maghrib
- Asr juristic setting: Standard (Shafi’i/Maliki/Hanbali — shadow equals object length) vs Hanafi (shadow twice the length, giving a later Asr — about 4:25 PM vs 3:31 PM in October)
Why do different websites show slightly different times? Because they use different methods or angle settings. A 2–5 minute difference between sites is normal. For worship, follow your local mosque’s adhan or the official AWQAF timetable. For the full technical breakdown, see our UAE prayer time calculation methods guide.
Abu Dhabi vs Dubai vs Sharjah: What’s the Difference?
Abu Dhabi sits west of Dubai and Sharjah, so its prayer times run about 3–5 minutes later than Dubai and roughly 5–8 minutes later than Sharjah. These are approximate — the exact gap shifts slightly with the sun’s position through the year. The differences matter most for Fajr and Maghrib, the prayers tied directly to dawn and sunset.
If you commute between emirates, don’t copy Dubai times for Abu Dhabi — use Abu Dhabi-specific times. We compare the emirates in detail in our Abu Dhabi vs Dubai prayer times guide, and you can check Sharjah prayer times separately.

Prayer Times in Ramadan
During Ramadan, the same five prayers apply, with two extras at night: Taraweeh after Isha and the pre-dawn Suhoor meal before Fajr. In Ramadan 2026 (Feb 18 – Mar 19), Abu Dhabi’s Isha falls around 7:35–7:50 PM, with Taraweeh starting about 10–15 minutes later. Suhoor ends at Fajr (~5:00–5:20 AM in that period) and Iftar is at Maghrib (~6:05–6:20 PM). See our Taraweeh prayer guide, Eid prayer times, and the Ramadan 2026 Abu Dhabi timetable for the full picture.
Prayer Times Across Abu Dhabi’s Neighborhoods
Prayer times are nearly identical across Abu Dhabi city — the difference between the Corniche and the outskirts is a minute or two at most. We still publish area-specific guides for the neighborhoods people search for most: Yas Island, Khalifa City, Mussafah, the Corniche, Al Reem Island, Madinat Zayed, and Al Ain. If you are heading to prayer by public transport in Dubai, our Nol card balance check guide may also come in handy.
